This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.
1. deny any possibility that this is the case
2. break down when you realize that the end is unavoidable
3. lash out at those around you
4. react poorly to anyone else complaining about their workload
5. avoid reality with food
6. avoid reality with drinking
There’s no reason to assume that you know what kind of sex someone wants just because you know their sex, gender, orientation, or favorite Hunger Games character — sleeping with someone new should be a process of discovering each other, not hauling out the same moves you used on your ex.

Sometimes as I’m teaching my students I get a little freaked out and start worrying that I’m basically a modern version of that lady inThe King and I. You know, white British lady going to a foreign country and inflicting her Western values on the poor, unknowing people. I mean, I do sing a lot with my students, which might be the first warning sign. And I often prize behaviors in class that are definitely super Western, encourage them to act the way I think students should act, which actually just happens to be how students in America are expected to act. Colonialism through education? The Vietnamese and Western values for education can be quite different, which is something my students enjoy talking about. I’ve been struggling with this idea all year and I still don’t know what to make of it.
Santorum. Really. We are blamed for everything. Any time a black man shoots a white family, we are told it’s because of slavery which we had nothing to do with. Any time there’s white-on-black crime, we are al victimized, harassed, brutalized and murdered.
But then I remember, it’s not a curse at all. We are human too even if we’re white. We made this country and we will not give it up. Not now. Not ever. After all, would black people give up Africa? They wouldn’t.
We are the victims, but we will survive and we will fight for our right to live.
WHAT THEE ACTUAL HAIL IS THIS!!?!!! REALLY!?!!!!!
Lol. I laughed out loud. I honestly did.
lmao in what universe did you make this country?
LMFAO!!!!!! THIS IS HILARIOUS
Luuuuulz! Best
laugh I’ve hadthing I’ve read all day. You’re absolutelywrongright, though! We white folks totallydestroyedmade this land that wasstolen from its rightful inhabitantsgiven to us by God, and we built up our civilization with the sweat and bloodof slaves that we brutally oppressedof our own hard work! Isn’t it good to be white and totally understandnothingeverything!!! I totallydon’tbelieve you that you’re absolutely not racist at all and white folks never do anything and we totally suffer like, SO MUCH racism and stuff. No but seriously, sit down and shut the fuck up. You’re giving us all a bad name and some of us would actually like to learn about racism and try to start making up for the fucked up shit our ancestors did, as opposed to just furthering the victim-blaming and oppression/abuse culture.
I actually thought this was fake. I was all “man, they are not being subtle in their parody at all!” Until I realized that it wasn’t fake. Oh man I wish I still thought it was.

LOOK AT YOUR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE
NOW LOOK AT ME
NOW BACK AT YOUR CANDIDATE
NOW BACK TO ME
SADLY, YOUR CANDIDATE IS NOT ME
BUT IF HE HAD A BRAIN, HE MIGHT NOT BE A TREMENDOUS DOUCHEBAG
LOOK IN YOUR HAND
LOOK BACK UP
I HAVE IT
IT’S RIGHTS FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST RICH WHITE CHRISTIAN MEN
LOOK AGAIN
THE RIGHTS ARE NOW LAWS
I’m not in the White House
I keep seeing this and as much as I agree with the sentiment that the Doctor is much cooler than Edward Cullen or many American superheroes, I really hate the way it is expressed here. Here we imply that men wearing tights or being sparkly is a bad thing. Why is it bad? I think it’s awesome. Furthermore, why is a really old man snatching up girls much younger than him a good thing? Why is that something to be proud of? Because it shows off his uber-masculinity? It’s so creepy to me how they say “young women,” as if the age is the most important thing. I love David Tennant and I love Doctor Who, but I really can’t stand this. Besides, they use two different spellings for the word “idolize”. UGH.
1. Begin your day with love (not technology). Remind yourself of your worthiness before getting out of bed. Breathe in love and breathe out love. Enfold yourself in light. Saturate your being in love.
2. Take time to mediate and journal. Spend time focusing inward…
This is so fucking important and relevant to my life right now. I’m hand writing this shit into my notebook tonight just to let it sink in a little deeper.
I think this is important for everyone, no matter what’s going on. I think if people took some time to do even a few of these things we’d all feel a whole lot better. Something else I like to do is to actually sit and just accept the present moment as the moment that it is, and nothing else, whatever you are feeling, whatever is happening, and allow yourself to just be (cheesy as it may sound).
